New Garmin top of the range Multi-sport watch Fenix 7 has been released just January 18, 2022.

Below is a comparison sheet with the core features and functionality the new Fenix 7 range of models have, including expected battery life showing Normal and Solar versions has:

This new watch has the same 5 Buttons layout as the previous Fenix watches so far. With this new model they have added a touchscreen interface for all the models in the Fenix range.

WHRM + Pulse Ox, Music, Garmin Pay, WIFI, Bluetooth and ANT + connection complete the list are added to the core features list, still it does not differentiate much from other watches in the market.

Where it does differentiate, is in the Battery life sector, where currently there is no other watch offering the same amount of features like touchscreen, smooth interface, solar charging with the same endurance as these watches do.

Another differentiator is the sheer amount of analytics, graphs and status tips.

An example new feature on the Fenix 7 watches is the REAL TIME STAMINA screen showing real time and overall stamina status and this is available during a workout and is quite beneficial to see what are the energy resources you have to tackle a the next part of your course by pacing yourself.

The new real time stamina shows in real time what is the estimated PACE you need to keep in order to complete the course that you are doing.

For me, pacing is really the most important during high intensity or high duration workouts which, if not tackled adequately, straining yourself too much, can take a toll on your end result. Looking forward to actually testing this watch and this new feature.

The first watch of Fenix range was released back in 2012 and it was a game changer in terms of ruggedness and battery life and was highly regarded in the Ultramarathon world and has . Since then Fenix released multiple versions 2, 3, 5, 5 plus, and 6, refreshing their watch with a new version every 2 or 3 years.
